About MobilitySavvy

Choosing a wheelchair is stressful. Most people buy one in a hurry, after a fall, a surgery or a new diagnosis, and the specs online are hard to compare. MobilitySavvy exists to make that decision easier.

Who MobilitySavvy is for

  • People who need a wheelchair or scooter and want to choose with confidence.
  • Family members and caregivers buying for a parent, partner or child.
  • Travelers who need a chair that folds into a car trunk or can fly.

What you'll find here

  • Buying guides that explain what matters for each type of chair, in plain English.
  • Our top pick for each need: lightest, best for travel, best for larger riders and more.
  • Side-by-side comparisons of weight, capacity, range, seat size and price.
  • Drawbacks next to strengths for every model, so you know what you're giving up.

How we work

Every recommendation follows the same process: we collect the specs from the manufacturer or store, read verified buyer feedback, and compare models on a 12-point checklist with safety first. We don't use every chair ourselves, and we say so. A review based on personal use is labeled clearly.

How MobilitySavvy is funded

MobilitySavvy is free to read. When you click a "Check price" button and buy, the retailer may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions never decide which model we rank first. Read the full affiliate disclosure.

What we are not

  • Not a store. We don't sell, ship or service wheelchairs; your order and warranty are with the retailer.
  • Not medical advice. For a fitting or a prescription, talk to your doctor, physical therapist or occupational therapist.
